Abstract Coast

Of all the environments that I shoot in, the coast probably offers the greatest scope creating for images due to its constantly changing nature. Wet rocks along the shoreline radiate their colours when wet, and the ebbing of the water, or crashing of the waves provide dynamic shapes and patterns for the creation abstract imagery.
Getting close to the waves, or even shooting when standing in the water, enables me to have the oppertunity to shoot across the forming tube and capture the sunlight as it passes through it from behind or above. On sunny days, the rays passing through the gold and bronze strands of the seaweed stretched out along the foreshore, provide a beautiful backdrop to shoot against the oncoming spray from the waves as they crash against the shore.
